Abstract generation in progress

Ethereum core developers discussed a number of important technical topics at the 214th Execution Layer Developer Meeting (ACDE). According to Christine Kim's meeting summary, the developers focused particularly on the upcoming Fusaka upgrade, new EIPs, and testing plans.

The highlight decision of the meeting was that the Fusaka Devnet 2 will be launched on June 23rd. At least three separate Consensus Layer (CL) and Execution Layer (EL) client groups need to be ready for Devnet 2. Some tests have been postponed to the next Devnet 3 phase, and the overall testing schedule has been extended.

The discussed and planned Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIP) included the following:

  • EIP-7594 – PeerDAS: Distributed Data Sampling
  • EIP-7823 – Upper limit for MODEXP operation
  • EIP-7825 – Transaction fee ( gas fee ) upper limit
  • EIP-7883 – Increase in ModExp gas cost
  • EIP-7892 – The Blob parameter can only be changed with a hard fork
  • EIP-7917 – Deterministic block producer visibility
  • EIP-7918 – Linking blob base fees to transaction costs
  • EIP-7935 – Setting the default gas limit to XX0M
  • EIP-7951 – adding the secp256r1 curve as precompiled
  • EIP-7907 – Limiting the smart contract code size from (256 KB to 48 KB )
  • EIP-7934 – RLP block size limitations
  • EIP-7939 – New opcodes that calculate the zero number

Some technical details are still in the test phase. For example, pricing tests for EIP-7951 are ongoing. The meeting also discussed new proposals planned to be added to the future "Glamsterdam" upgrade. Among these, EIP-7745 (security logo index) and EIP-7919 (a core proposal called Pureth) stood out.
