Wilder World Launches FPS Shooter with $100,000 Tournament

The metaverse project Wilder World, built on the Ethereum blockchain, unveiled its brand-new first-person shooter at Gamescom – and it’s kicking things off with a $100,000 tournament. The game is available in “super early access” via the Epic Games Store and offers 10-minute deathmatches for 10 players. A unique feature is the combination of first- and third-person perspectives, set in Wiami, a 1:1 digital replica of Miami that will serve as the foundation of the project’s future open-world metaverse.

$100,000 Tournament The launch comes with a major tournament, with qualifiers running from August 25 to September 9. Playoffs will follow, and the grand final is scheduled for September 24 at a yet-to-be-disclosed location. The five top players will be flown in for the event – with all expenses covered.

Second Chapter of the Metaverse This shooter follows last year’s release of the racing game Wilder Wheels, developed in partnership with Lamborghini, and represents another step toward a full-scale open world. According to the project’s pseudonymous co-founder and executive producer n3o, the final metaverse will include not just racing and combat, but also resource mining, trading, concerts, exhibitions, and other cultural experiences. “We want to build the first truly living digital city in the world,” explained n3o. “The early access modes help us refine world-class gameplay mechanics before everything merges into one open world.”

Crypto Backbone Wilder World is powered by its own token, WILD, launched in 2021, which helped the project raise over $30 million in funding. While the token’s price has fallen nearly 95% from its all-time high of $7.44, it has gained 37% in the past month, now trading around $0.40. The full open-world release is targeted for early 2026.
