In fact, the energy released is about 1.1 kilotons of TNT equivalent, which is much smaller than a typical nuclear bomb. Compared to the Hiroshima atomic bomb, the energy of the Beirut explosion is about 7.3% of it, or approximately 1/13.7.

Compared to modern nuclear weapons, the energy of the Beirut explosion was approximately 0.55%, only one 181.8th of it;

So nuclear bombs are really no joke...
