Ross Ulbricht was previously sentenced to life in prison without parole for creating and operating the "Silk Road," a dark web marketplace that specialized in the sale of drugs and other illegal products and services. The platform used Bitcoin for transactions and helped promote the adoption of cryptocurrency. In January of this year, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order granting an unconditional pardon to Ross Ulbricht.
