After Trump called in the National Guard, the mayor of Los Angeles urged to keep the city "peaceful".

Gate News bot message, thousands of protesters in Los Angeles clashed with security forces over immigration enforcement, the unrest has entered its third day, and Los Angeles Mayor Bass has called for peace.

"Our city has been through a lot," Bass told reporters at a press conference at City Hall. "The most important thing is that our city is peaceful."

Last weekend, Trump ordered the National Guard to Los Angeles despite opposition from California Governor Newsom and other local officials. Newsom formally requested the White House to rescind the "illegal" deployment and return the troops to his command, warning that this would only exacerbate tensions.

Bass stated that she agrees with Newsom's view that Trump's executive order should be rescinded. Bass said that the raids by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have created a sense of fear and chaos in the city, but she added that those who wish to protest should do so peacefully.
