Ethereum privacy proposal aims to push for GDPR Compliance modular architecture

On June 9, PANews reported that Ethereum community member Eugenio Reggianini proposed a privacy roadmap suggesting compatibility with the EU GDPR regulations through a modular architecture and multiple privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). The proposal includes transferring personal data to the Wallet and DApp edge, off-chain storage combined with metadata erasure, and mechanisms such as encryption role separation to alleviate compliance burdens on the Mainnet while preserving decentralization features. Successful implementation relies on developer adoption and regulatory coordination.
