Divisions Emerge as Trump Has No Intention to Sign Joint Statement Proposed by the G7 on the Conflict with Iran

U.S. President Trump stated that he had no intention of signing a joint statement that the G7 intended to issue calling for a de-escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict. CNN reported that a knowledgeable White House official said Trump decided not to sign the joint statement, leading to differences between him and other attending leaders. However, a senior Canadian official stated that European leaders and Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau are still working to reach a Consensus. The White House official explained that Trump has publicly expressed his views on the Israel-Iran conflict and believes he currently has no reason to sign the statement. Trump will continue to work to ensure that Iran cannot acquire nuclear weapons.
