Pi Network Marks 100 Days Since Launching Open Mainnet

Pi Network has completed its first 100 days since the launch of the Open mainnet on February 20, 2025, after more than six years of ecosystem development. The launch has opened external connections to the Pi blockchain, enabling real-time utilities and expanding access for developers, merchants, and over 13 million mainnet users globally. The 100-day celebration has not significantly impacted the price of Pi Coin (PI), which is struggling to gain momentum and is currently trading below $0.60.

This currency has been unable to break the resistance level of $0.61 marked by the 50-period exponential moving average, with the current trading volume fluctuating at $77 million, down 35% from the seven-day average. The Pi Network venture capital fund worth 100 million dollars and Pi Day 2025 According to a blog post, within 100 days, the Pi Foundation launched Pi Network Ventures, an initiative supported by a $100 million fund shared between Pi and USD. The Pi group asserts that this initiative will help fund startups and businesses building or integrating the Pi ecosystem. They further stated that the fund will prioritize projects that promote the commercial use and practical applications of the Pi coin. Other additions to this ecosystem include FruityPi, a mobile fruit-matching game introduced by Pi Network. Pi Day 2025, held on March 14, is the first PiFest event following the launch of the Open Network. The week-long event, running until March 21, has attracted over 125,000 registered merchants, including 58,000 active sellers. "In the first 100 days of the Open Network, Pioneers have proven that the utility-based cryptocurrency Pi has been accepted and will continue to exist and grow," the organization stated. The "Map of Pi" application, operated by the community, has recorded over 1.8 million Pioneer users during the event, while more than 45,000 reviews have been submitted. PiFest has become a testing ground for real-world commerce within the Pi ecosystem. The auction for the pi domain has surpassed the number 69,000. Last Tuesday, Cryptopolitan reported on the launch of the .pi domain auction, where users and businesses can purchase exclusive domain identifier codes within the Pi ecosystem. According to the organization's report, more than 123,000 active auctions have been conducted to date by over 57,000 unique participants. In total, more than 69,000 domain names currently have active bids, with over 3 million Pi staked in the ongoing auction process. The Pi organization states that domain names have immediate utility, are easier to explore applications, enhance brand visibility, and allow for user personalization. Pi Network has also launched updates for its mainnet ecosystem interface since February. Developers can now deploy applications through the Developer Portal without needing prior approval for a whitelist. In a move to support monetization, Pi app developers have been invited to apply to join the Pi Ad Network. Selected individuals will become part of the first group of applications from the pilot program that is currently generating advertising revenue. This network seems to be building a sustainable economic ecosystem for developers and content creators. As of February 20, over 3 million Pioneers have migrated to the mainnet, bringing the total number of users to over 13 million. Blockchain activity is on the rise, with over 7.4 billion Pi moved, 5.2 billion locked, and 2.2 billion unlocked. According to the internal blockchain explorer of the Pi Network, network data shows that there are currently more than 400,000 active nodes on testnet1, testnet2, and mainnet.
