Young drug dealers use virtual currency for "contactless" drug transactions and were ultimately arrested in Shanghai.

According to Gate News bot, the Shanghai police discovered a new type of drug trafficking method during an investigation into a drug case. While searching the mobile phones of drug users, the police found photos of green belts marked in red, and tracked the drug dealer's movements through road surveillance.

The surveillance showed that a man in black was burying items in the greenbelt and taking photos. The police subsequently dug up marijuana at the location and found other drug users through this. These individuals contacted drug dealers through foreign chat software and obtained photos of the buried drugs after making payments with virtual currency.

The arrested post-00s drug dealer Li Qi admitted that he found this "side hustle" method through the external network. He obtained drugs from his supplier and could earn 50 yuan for each package buried. In a short period, he has buried hundreds of drug packages. Li Qi operated criminal activities across 7 provinces, transforming vehicles into "mobile drug trafficking vehicles."

Currently, Li Qi has been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, and the investigation into the case is still ongoing.
