A New York court approves bail for two suspects in a Bitcoin kidnapping case.
According to ChainCatcher news, as reported by Protos, two suspects accused of kidnapping and torturing a Bitcoin trader to obtain his Secret Key, John Woeltz and William Duplessie, have been granted bail by a New York court. The two are facing 12 charges, to which they have pleaded not guilty, each released on a $1 million Margin and will be subjected to electronic monitoring while being required to surrender their passports. The suspect Woeltz, referred to as the "Crypto King of Kentucky," is accused of kidnapping an Italian crypto trader in Woeltz's Soho mansion and subjecting him to torture, including threats with a gun, attacks with a stun gun and chainsaw, as well as pouring alcohol and setting it on fire. It is alleged that the two also threatened to kill the victim's family. Although the prosecution claimed there was evidence showing that the two had similar behavior, Judge Gregory Carro believed there were many credibility issues and decided to grant bail while continuing to review the evidence.
