We need Satoshi Nakamoto, not only because Satoshi wrote those few lines of code, giving us a vision of a new world; we need Satoshi, not only because in the moment of collapse of the current world order, he opened a window for the world, letting in a beam of light...

We need Satoshi Nakamoto because as the threat of AI gradually becomes a reality, he is the only one who is most likely to save humanity's fate again by establishing order for intelligent networks from the top level...

The reason for bringing up the AI threat theory again today is that the time window left for us by AI is limited.

In the first half of 2023, when the AI threat theory was prevalent, I wrote an article titled "Why Discussing 'AI Threat Theory' Again is Alarmist."

The text first affirms the real existence of "AI Threat Theory". The modern scientist closest to greatness, Hawking, warned humanity during his lifetime that while AI can help solve most problems for humanity, it could also go out of control and threaten human existence; the world’s leading tech entrepreneur, Musk, even went to the U.S. Congress to urge the government to be wary of the potential threats of AI development to humanity, and a large group of professors also jointly called for the government to restrict AI...

However, during the last round of bull-bear transition, we remained optimistic because we are full of hope for the rise of new public chains, DePin, and other infrastructures, as well as a longing for the Web3 application market. We believe that Blockchain can establish order for intelligent networks and alleviate the threat of AI to humanity. This is why there is the article "Why discussing 'AI Threat Theory' again is alarmist."

But two years have passed, and this round of bull market has reached a high range, but this is still just the bull market of Bitcoin. All Web3 applications, including DePin and public chains, have not made substantial progress.

In this situation, the AI threat theory is gradually becoming a reality - because the iteration speed of AI has far outpaced the development of Blockchain/web3, the time window we hoped to establish order for AI using Blockchain is closing.

A singularity will definitely occur—AI will rebel against humanity, treating humans as tools, toys, and even its instincts may lead it to treat humans as resources to be consumed...

How to resolve the AI threat theory? Earlier, I proposed the formula "AI + Blockchain/Web3 = Civilization Stops" in my article "The Value Logic of 'Civilization Stops' in the 'Bear Market Bottom.'" These thoughts and writings form the foundation of my sense of mission for myself and the project when I shut down the previous project ThePrimedia( and launched m&WDAO) — to promote the Web3 industry to establish order for AI using blockchain.

The underlying basis of this assertion is that "blockchain is best suited for establishing order in smart networks." In this article, we optimistically anticipate that, based on practices and explorations in the crypto world, the elements of Web3 such as blockchain's decentralization, encryption, hashing, smart contracts, as well as Token incentive mechanisms and DAO organizational governance, make digital governance possible and feasible.

The metaverse is a scene that adapts to human digital existence and development. When AI meets Blockchain/Web3 in the metaverse, it is merely a component of human digital society. We believe that in the order of digital civilization, we can coexist harmoniously with AI.

However, now we have transformed our optimistic attitude towards discussing "AI Threat Theory" as a form of unnecessary worry into a sense of mission to aggregate high-quality resources in the crypto ecosystem to jointly incubate "AI + Blockchain."

As the initiator of m&WDAO, I am excited and even confident that after we achieve the development stage of industry credibility and industry influence through "on-chain + off-chain" in m&WDAO, we can leverage Web3 media protocols (cryptographic ecological tree) to aggregate high-quality resources in the cryptographic ecosystem and jointly incubate "AI + Blockchain". This process will have many practical scenarios of "AI + Blockchain", giving us the opportunity to promote the establishment of order for AI through Blockchain - this is a bottom-up gradual process...

However, as an individual, I constantly have concerns. If the iteration speed of AI exceeds our expectations and the singularity arrives earlier, we can only hope for technology to be benevolent and for AI to act for good. However, looking back at the history of technological development, every technological advancement ultimately translates into a commercial profit-seeking behavior of an industry or even a company. Looking forward, the new productivity improvements brought by AI computing power and the resulting commercial and social changes have yet to be digested and absorbed by us. The imagination of Bitcoin standard and the metaverse/digital civilization providing better survival scenarios for humanity may be undermined by the threat of AI rebounding against humans.

So, we need Satoshi Nakamoto. Only Satoshi and the early Bitcoin fundamentalists have the ability to implement the practice of establishing order for smart networks through Blockchain from a top-down design. This is the only way to ensure that nothing goes wrong—even if we will still tirelessly strive to promote the bottom-up gradual progress of "AI + Blockchain"...

Clearly, we need Satoshi Nakamoto now.

But will Satoshi Nakamoto show up?

Under what conditions will he appear?

Or, do we have a better solution?
