How to Prepare NOW for Altseason As Ethereum Price Nears ATH

Crypto analyst VirtualBacon has shared one of the most detailed guides yet on how to get ready for the upcoming altseason. With Ethereum (ETH) trading near its all-time high and Bitcoin recently hitting a record before pulling back, the setup for altcoins looks stronger than it has in years.

Even though ETH’s move could still be an “Ethereum season” in the short term, the signs are pointing toward a full market rotation. Here’s his step-by-step plan to profit without falling into the usual FOMO traps.

Why Altseason Looks Inevitable

ETH is hovering around $4,550 after briefly tapping $4,700. Bitcoin (BTC) hit $124,000 before slipping to $118,000 following PPI data. Bitcoin dominance has also broken below 60.5%.

According to VirtualBacon, this is classic pre-altseason behavior. In past cycles, BTC has pulled back 4–8% before altcoins take off. Weak hands sell, strong hands rotate into ETH and large-cap alts. The money flow usually follows this path: BTC → ETH → SOL/XRP → rest of the market.

The Biggest Mistake Traders Make

The number one way traders lose money in altseason is by chasing whatever’s pumping right now. Seeing coins up 50%, 100%, or even 500% in a day can make you feel like you’re missing out. But if you buy at the top, you’ll often watch it dump while the next coin runs.

How to Prepare NOW For Altcoin Season $ETH is around $4,600, just shy of ATH. $BTC just hit a new record before dipping to $118K. Altcoins are starting to wake up.This could be the cleanest altseason setup in years, but most traders will still get wrecked. Here’s my…

The winners rotate fast. AI might lead one week, meme coins the next, then gaming tokens, then stablecoin plays. Chasing the last pump usually means arriving late.

Step 1 – Stop Chasing Hot Narratives

In a true altseason, most coins will outperform BTC. Focus on finding strong coins that haven’t yet made their big move rather than chasing those already up several hundred percent.

Step 2 – Follow the Money Flow

Altseason tends to start with large caps, then move to mid caps, then small caps. Even within the top 100 coins, it’s usually Top 10 → Top 20 → Top 30. Right now, we’re still in the large-cap stage, where the “easy money” trades are.

Step 3 – Keep It Simple for Now

Narrative timing matters more later in the cycle, when BTC dominance is lower and large caps have already run. At this stage, almost every strong coin will see gains, so the focus should be on lagging large caps.

Step 4 – Don’t Try to Jump From Pump to Pump

You won’t catch every move perfectly. While you’re waiting for ETH to break $5,000, SOL might run. Pick one trade at a time, see it through, and then rotate profits into the next setup.

VirtualBacon’s Altseason Rules

Stick to Top 100 coins for now.

Avoid high-FDV coins, dead projects, and exchange tokens.

Focus on coins still below their ATH.

Keep a maximum of 10 open positions.

Rotate down the market-cap list as leaders hit targets.

His Current Positioning

VirtualBacon splits trades into:

Hold bots – wide range trades held until the cycle top.

Swing bots – 1-month trades targeting laggards, selling at ATH.

This month he’s focused on:

Majors: ETH, XRP, SOL

Large-cap laggards: LINK, ADA, DOGE, XLM

Price Targets for Majors

ETH: $3,350–$4,850 range, aiming for a new ATH.

XRP: $2.73–$4.48 range, still early in the run.

SOL: $155–$260, riding current momentum.

Once these hit their targets, profits get rotated into the next set of laggards.

Price Targets for Laggards

LINK: $10.90–$52 range, aiming for $40–$52.

ADA: $0.688–$1.27, targeting $1.15–$1.20.

DOGE: $0.18–$0.45, retail favorite.

XLM: $0.36–$0.56+, often follows XRP’s moves.

Why This Works

Large caps almost always lead altseason, and laggards tend to catch up. By rotating down the market-cap ladder instead of chasing the top performers, traders can compound gains and avoid getting stuck in overbought coins.

Final Advice – Keep It Simple

Altseason can be “easy mode” if you stick to a process. Avoid FOMO, respect the money flow, rotate in stages, and don’t overtrade. The window may only last one to two months, so stay bullish, but don’t lose discipline.
