Baltic Dry Index falls to a 3-month low

The Baltic Dry Index for dry bulk cargo fell for the eighth consecutive trading day on Tuesday to its lowest level in three months, as various ship type indices declined. The Baltic Dry Index fell 35 points or 2% to 1,762 points, the lowest level since May 1. The Capesize Index fell 83 points or 3.2% to 2,499 points, falling for the eighth consecutive trading day. The average daily profit of Capesize ships fell by $682 to $20,729. The Panamax Index fell 20 points or 1.1% to 1,772 points, the lowest level in a week. The average daily profit of Panamax ships fell by $187 to $15,945. The Supramax Index fell 6 points or 0.4% to 1,377 points.
