US media: Details of Ukrainian peacekeeping forces gradually emerging, deterrence against Russia may include direct strikes

On March 13th, according to the Associated Press, senior military officials from Europe and other regions held talks in Paris on Tuesday to discuss the possible outlines of deploying an international peacekeeping force to Ukraine. Trump seems to have rejected the idea of the U.S. providing security guarantees for Ukraine, shifting this responsibility to Europe. The UK and France plan to establish a force with sufficient military power to prevent Russia from attacking Ukraine again. For Ukrainian officials, the key question is how such an alliance would respond if Russia violates future ceasefire protocols, whether there would be a military response to a large-scale Russian attack, and how quickly the response would come. A French military official suggested that this force may include heavy weapons and weapon reserves that can be rapidly deployed within hours or days to assist Ukraine in defense. Another idea proposed by a Western official in Kyiv is that if Russia breaches the protocol, they may immediately target Russian assets.
