Recently saw that #ABDAO actually set up a charity foundation, and when I looked at the board of directors list, I was stunned, all of them were former national leaders - former prime ministers and former presidents. It's really rare to see crypto world projects play like this.
The key is not just to put on a show to fool people; it's about truly integrating charity into the protocol. Every on-chain transaction directly takes a cut into the charity pool, and the ecological fund continues to give back after making profits. This mechanism clearly aims for long-term sustainability, not just a short-term flashy approach.
In the past, I saw many projects that were just "charity fronts" and ended up being PPT projects, talking about a lot of feelings but ultimately just self-indulgence. ABDAO is a bit different this time, it feels more like using political resources + blockchain to get things done.
Of course, this model of relying on credit endorsement also depends on whether those big players can consistently support it without any setbacks. But as long as it remains stable, it might really open up a new path for web3 philanthropy.
If in the future charity can be done while transferring funds and handled on-chain, with transparent tracking of the destination, the experience and sense of trust will indeed be different. I'm quite looking forward to this being realized; not to mention the great merit, at least it's a rare seriousness in the crypto world.
