Humanity Response: We will not collect any private information. "Zhangteng Information" is an early partner, and the project is for global operation.

On June 23, the founder of Humanity Protocol posted a post in response to community questions ("Humanity may be a "domestic project shell", palmprint data collection raises privacy concerns), saying, "An old version of the Humanity app (v1.0.2) accidentally included some legacy image resources that are not related to our official system when it was packaged. These are just remnants of the early testing phase and are not actually called by the application. This is an oversight on the part of the engineering team during the packaging process and does not represent any functional integration of these resources. We've removed the files and pushed a clean version of the update to the app stores. The "Zhangteng Information" mentioned in the article is the technology partner we work with in the early stage of hardware evaluation and infrastructure construction. The company's founders were senior engineers at Tencent and have been recognized in the industry for the stability and security of their technology. They have deployed palmprint biometric systems for UnionPay, Shanghai Metro, and other institutions. Our cooperation is limited to the technical level. Humanity does not collect palm prints, original images, or any personally identifiable information. All biometric data is locally converted into a privacy-preserving signature on the user's device, which is used to securely prove the identity of a "real person". No sensitive information leaves the user's control. Our systems are designed with "zero-knowledge" and "privacy-first" as core principles to ensure end-to-end encryption. The encrypted signature data used to generate privacy-preserving biometric signatures is not stored in China, but is distributed across a cloud infrastructure that complies with local data protection regulations. In markets where the jurisdiction is not clear, we default to the Swiss secure storage solution. We understand that there may be skepticism about certain projects that are considered "domestic projects", and we understand the community's concerns about privacy issues. But Humanity Protocol is a globally operated project with team members and stakeholders spread across multiple continents. We are committed to solving one of the most critical challenges in Web3 and the digital world: verifying a user's "human identity" without compromising privacy."
