A seminar focused on sustainable development issues, titled "Green AI: Can Emerging Technologies Save the Planet?", was successfully held at the University of Surrey in the UK, co-hosted by the Endless Protocol and its decentralized social platform Luffa. Endless Web3 Genesis Cloud, as a leading Web3 infrastructure, joined hands with Luffa, built on top of it, to explore the future of sustainable technology.

The event specially invited Satya S. Tripathi, former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and current Secretary-General of the Global Alliance for Sustainable Development (GASP), to deliver a keynote speech, which sparked a heated discussion on the role, opportunities, and challenges of next-generation technologies in driving climate action.

The host of this forum is Professor Xiong Yu, co-founder and co-president of the Endless protocol, and deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Surrey, while Oliver Venables, product director of Luffa, will serve as the moderator. Jay Shen, founder of the UK technology company Transreport, has also been invited to participate in the roundtable discussion. This technology company, known for enhancing transport accessibility, adds diverse perspectives to the forum, with topics covering various aspects such as technology, governance, and social impact.

Key Topic Highlights:

  • The dual nature of technology: How AI, blockchain, and the metaverse can become breakthroughs for sustainable development while also potentially bringing new emissions and inequality risks.
  • Digital Climate Finance: How DeFi and carbon credit tokenization innovatively support climate resilience and investment in underdeveloped regions.
  • Global Governance and Ethical Leadership: Technology must serve the common goals of all humanity through systemic change and multilateral cooperation.

The forum emphasized that Luffa is committed to building the AI social infrastructure for the Web3 era, and its vision has surpassed traditional social applications to become a key technological infrastructure for global sustainable development. "Luffa, as a social platform based on AI native infrastructure, not only connects users but also connects 'mission,'" said Oliver Venables. "Today's conversation showcases the tremendous potential of decentralized systems in driving climate action, equity, and global cooperation."

The Endless protocol has been closely monitoring global sustainable development. In November 2024, at the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 29) forum on "Empowering Sustainable Innovation" held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Professor Xiong Yu delivered a keynote speech, showcasing how Endless leverages blockchain and AI to support net-zero goals. Through the tokenization of carbon credits and blockchain recording, Endless enhances the transparency and efficiency of the carbon market; its AI technology enables refined management of energy usage, real-time energy consumption monitoring, and optimizes node operations through predictive algorithms, reducing unnecessary waste and significantly lowering the protocol's carbon footprint. Professor Xiong Yu stated, "Endless is not only a technological innovation but also a commitment to a green future, providing sustainable pathways for achieving global net-zero goals."

"We are honored to collaborate with Mr. Satya and global thought leaders such as Sari University," Professor Xiong Yu added, "Endless provides decentralized infrastructure for a fair and green future, while Luffa, built on top of it, is the core platform driving the co-creation economy and a morally-driven technology ecosystem, empowering users, developers, and communities."

This forum is an important step for the Endless protocol and Luffa in promoting the mission of "co-creating the economy", aimed at collectively shaping the future of digital systems through participation, governance, and benefits.

About Luffa

Luffa is a decentralized AI social platform based on distributed and encryption technology, dedicated to protecting user privacy and data security. All data is protected by end-to-end encryption (E2EE) and is only stored on user devices, with no centralized backups. User accounts are separated from real identities, effectively preventing information leakage, while users can easily create channels, mini-programs, and AI bots.
