Ethereum network transactions have just reached a one-year high after the SEC announced new guidelines on staking. According to Dune Analytics, over 36 million ETH ( nearly 30% of the total supply ) is currently being staked, indicating long term investor confidence.

The SEC stated that liquidity staking activities and the issuance of representative tokens may not be considered securities if they do not constitute an investment contract, allowing organizations to confidently integrate this type of asset. However, SEC Commissioner Caroline Crenshaw opposed this, arguing that the statement is based on unrealistic assumptions.

The Ethereum community remains optimistic: over 500,000 ETH has been staked in the first half of June and nearly 23 million ETH is held by wallets that have never sold. However, the DeFi sector still lacks a clear legal framework, while America and the EU are considering regulatory adjustments in the future.
