Sam Bankman-Fried seeks broadcast ban in case

Sam Bankman-Fried's legal team has passed a posting ban, which prevented him from making comments that could affect the criminal case. But he wants the ban to include FTX CEO John Ray and potential witnesses.
Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX, accepted the decision to impose a broadcast ban on the case. With the broadcast ban, third parties will be prevented from making comments that may interfere with the case. However, the SBF wants the ban to include FTX's new CEO, John Ray, and potential witnesses like him.
As it is known, Bankman-Fried made statements to publicly discredit his former business partner and witness, Caroline Ellison, in an interview with the New York Times recently. The aforementioned broadcast ban came to the fore after the SBF's statements and accusations against Ellison.
SBF wants John Ray and potential witnesses included in the broadcast ban
After the SBF publicly discredited Ellison, the former CEO of FTX is under investigation. However, Bankman-Fried's attorneys, Cohen & Gresser LLP, denied the charges in a letter to United States District Court Judge Lewis A. Kaplan in New York. However, he accepted the requested broadcast ban application.
In that case, Bankman-Fried will no longer be able to make comments that publicly discredit a government witness by sharing confidential information that could tarnish the jury pool.
Although Bankman-Fried's lawyers accept the broadcast ban, they want the same ban to apply to all parties and witnesses who may be involved in the criminal case.
According to the lawyers, the broadcast ban should cover the US Government, former employees of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, FTX Borrower organizations, Alameda Research and other potential witnesses involved in the case.
In addition, the SBF's lawyers, especially John Ray, insisted that he stay out.
On the other hand, the law firm argued that the US Government applied double standards, citing various documents aimed at discrediting the SBF. Thus, this situation formed the basis of the same broadcast ban request for the SBF.
Finally, SBF's trial on fraud charges is scheduled to begin on October 3.
