According to a post by MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor in the X community, the company announced on Monday that it will once again purchase BTC, acquiring 5,262 BTC with a budget of less than 1 billion US dollars. This acquisition is relatively conservative compared to previous large purchases, with an average price of $106,662 per coin, and it is a regular periodic purchase before the BTC pullback, which has little impact on the position.
MicroStrategy has acquired 5,262 BTC for ~$561 million at ~$106,662 per bitcoin and has achieved BTC Yield of 47.4% QTD and 73.7% YTD. As of 12/22/2024, we hodl 444,262 $BTC acquired for ~$27.7 billion at ~$62,257 per bitcoin. $MSTR

The company's current BTC holdings have reached 444,262 BTC, most of which were purchased before the pullback in BTC price. To date, MicroStrategy has spent a total of $2.77 billion to acquire BTC, and its current value has increased to $42.6 billion. Even with the recent pullback in BTC price, the profits are still astonishing, with a cumulative increase of 54%.
Another Japanese company, Metaplanet, also expressed confidence and announced through a press release this week that it has purchased nearly 620 BTC, setting a new record for its largest single purchase. This transaction was funded through the issuance of zero-coupon bonds by the company and invested approximately $60.6 million raised from the fundraising into BTC, bringing its total holdings to 1,762 BTC, with a total value of about $168 million, driving its stock price to continue to climb.
