ZachXBT: The UK has low penalties for cybercrime and a shortage of law enforcement resources

PANews reported on March 17 that, according to Mario Nawfal, social media hacking in the UK has surged, with related cases rising from 22,530 in 2023 to 35,434 in 2024. Hackers often take over social media or email accounts, impersonating users and tricking their friends into providing security codes. On-chain detective ZachXBT said that the UK has a low level of punishment for cybercrime, and even if a scam is reported, the perpetrator is often not substantially punished. In addition, law enforcement agencies face a shortage of resources when dealing with such cases.
