Aptos Labs and Jump Crypto have joined forces to launch Shelby - a new generation decentralized hot storage network.

On June 24, Aptos Labs and Jump Crypto officially released Shelby, a high-performance, decentralized hot storage network built for Web3 real-time applications, covering streaming media, AI data, social platforms, DePIN and other scenarios.

Shelby achieves read and write speeds and reliability comparable to cloud services through global high-performance nodes, fiber optic backbone, and on-chain programmable architecture, breaking the centralization and performance bottlenecks of traditional Web2 services, and features sub-second response, pay-per-use billing, Token gating, DRM, smart contract access control, and dynamic pricing capabilities.

Projects such as Metaplex, Story Protocol, and Pipe Network will be the first to connect, and NBCUniversal plans to adopt Shelby in streaming scenarios to further validate the potential of its cross-chain real-time infrastructure.

The Shelby developer testnet (Devnet) is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will support multi-chain ecosystems such as Aptos, Ethereum, and Solana.
