The New Era of Staking Rewards

Unlike previous launch methods that overly favor internal personnel in staking rewards, the $IP staking follows the principle of fair launch.

The foundation or early contributors will not receive staking rewards in advance, and no one can receive staking rewards before the community.

Currently, the Story network is still in the singularity period, expected to last for about 42 days after the genesis Block on January 19. Users are welcome to participate in staking or delegate staking—please note that staking rewards are not generated during this period, but it provides everyone with the opportunity to decide whether to stake.

With the emergence of the Block explosion, the staking rewards will officially begin. Each Block distributes 1.9477989871 $IP, at a block generation speed of 3 seconds per Block, approximately 55,555 $IP will be distributed per day.

Time-weighted staking model

Staking is the foundation of the security and sustainability of any Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain. A well-designed staking mechanism can not only ensure network security, but also incentivize the appropriate participants to make long-term commitments, ensuring economic incentives are aligned with network security and mission.

The time-weighted pledge model of Story encourages long-term supporters. The longer the pledge time, the higher the rewards, thus promoting network stability and realizing the network's vision.

Assuming a user chooses to stake 2,000 $IP for 90 days, they will ultimately receive rewards equivalent to staking 2,200 $IP. Even if the user extends the staking period after the initial 90-day term, the reward bonus remains valid.

In order to further enhance network security, locked tokens can also be staked. However, we believe that locked tokens should be treated differently from unlocked tokens, with a lower reward multiplier of 0.5x. In addition, these rewards will be locked for at least 6 months to ensure priority consideration for the community.
