Abstract generation in progress

On June 10, the Ethereum Foundation announced last month the "Trillion-Level Security" (1TS) initiative, an ecosystem-level effort to upgrade Ethereum's security, today released its first 1TS report to outline existing security challenges in the Ethereum ecosystem. The Security Challenges Overview report outlines challenges in 6 key areas: user experience: issues that affect users securely managing private keys, interacting with on-chain applications, and signing transactions; Smart contracts: the security of smart contract components for Ethereum applications, and the software production lifecycle that shapes them; Infrastructure & Cloud Security: Infrastructure issues that Ethereum applications rely on (including cryptocurrency-specific and traditional infrastructure) such as L2 chains, RPCs, cloud hosting services, etc.; Consensus protocol: a security feature of the core protocol that protects the Ethereum blockchain from attacks or manipulation; Monitoring, incident response, and mitigation: the challenges faced by users and organizations in responding to security breaches, particularly in recovering funds or managing subsequent impacts; Social Layer & Governance: Ethereum's open-source governance, community, and organizational ecosystem. The Foundation said that the 1TS project will use this report to select the highest priority issues and work with the ecosystem to address them.
