The FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice jointly combat North Korean remote IT fraud: recovering over $900,000 in Crypto Assets, more than 100 U.S. companies infiltrated.

On July 1, the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice announced nationwide actions to combat the remote IT work fraud perpetrated by North Korea against American businesses, which included the arrest of a U.S. citizen suspected of providing a "laptop farm" for North Korean operatives. A total of 29 bank accounts were seized, 21 fraudulent websites were shut down, over 200 devices were confiscated, more than $900,000 in stolen Crypto Assets were recovered, and over 100 American companies were infiltrated.
