[Certik: In the first half of 2025, crypto hacker attacks and scams caused losses exceeding $2.5 billion] According to the Hack3d report released by CertiK, the cryptocurrency industry suffered losses exceeding $2.47 billion due to hacker attacks and scams in the first half of 2025, surpassing the total for the entire year of 2024. Among these, losses due to CEX vulnerabilities and Cetus protocol vulnerabilities totaled $1.78 billion. Wallet leak incidents were the main cause, resulting in losses of $1.7 billion, while phishing attacks led to a total loss of $410 million across 132 incidents. Ethereum was the most frequently targeted chain, involved in 164 incidents with losses of $1.5 billion. Nevertheless, the total loss in the second quarter was $801 million, a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 52%.
