Overview of IC Ecosystem Projects Funded Through SNS

The Internet Computer blockchain ( IC ) aims to create a "world computer" that allows smart contracts to run on-chain at internet speed. The DFINITY Foundation hopes that developers can create large-scale services on the IC chain in a more decentralized manner and fundraise directly from the user community.

In December 2022, DFINITY launched the SNS( Service Nervous System) infrastructure, providing application developers with a one-stop DAO governance solution. Projects need to be voted on by ICP stakers to be launched on SNS for token sales, and they must reach the preset fundraising goal.

In the past 10 months, 11 IC ecosystem projects have completed decentralized token sales on SNS, transforming into DAOs, raising a total of approximately $20.6 million. After investors purchase and stake tokens, they can participate in governance voting for project upgrades, fund management, and more.

SNS1: From Experimental Coin to Game Governance Coin

SNS1 is DFINITY's testing project for SNS, which was later taken over by the on-chain game Dragginz to become its governance token.

• Current situation: The development team holds 52% of the tokens and voting rights, SNSI price has risen from 47 ICP to 999 ICP

OpenChat is an early project in the SocialFi track of the IC ecosystem, similar to "Telegram + Discord".
