PANews reported on March 18th that, according to an official announcement, Web3 blockchain game Champions Ascension announced that its servers will be temporarily shut down because the development team will focus on REACH Labs. The shutdown includes the Champions Ascension server, as well as related features such as Imperial Expeditions and Dudo, which took effect last Friday. The announcement stated that the technology developed for REACH Labs is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of Champions Ascension, although a specific timeline for its return has not been provided. Despite the temporary suspension of the game, the team has confirmed that KEYS rewards will still be distributed. REACH Labs is introduced as a new web3 game publisher established through a collaboration between Rough House Games (creators of Champions Ascension) and Overworld. REACH aims to enhance game distribution by integrating blockchain technology and community participation. Earlier in 2023, Champions Ascension completed a $32 million seed round of financing, with a16z Games and a16z Crypto leading the investment.
